It was with sadness I heard of the demise of Searsons Wine Merchants , one of Ireland’s premier Wine Merchants who carried an extensive range of wines particularly for the Hospitality Trade .
Searsons have been a major supplier to me for the last number of years and had a number of prestigious Agencies but obviously found trading conditions very difficult lately , The Governments decision to INCREASE THE EXCISE DUTY AND VAT BY €990.00 PER PALLET in the last 2 years certainly did not help.
Tindal Wine Merchants however are stepping into the breach and are distributing Searsons wines into the trade.
Anthony Tindal and his associate Richard Verling are old colleagues of mine since our days together in Findlaters in the 90s and indeed were instrumental in helping me develope the wine business locally
